Itinerary

Day 1: Sacred Valley to Pisac and Ollantaytambo

  • Morning: Pick-up from your hotel in Cusco between 7:30 am and 7:45 am.
  • Awana Kancha: First stop for 15 minutes to learn about Peruvian textiles and see llamas, alpacas, and vicuñas.
  • Taray: Stop for 10 minutes at a lookout point to take photos of the Sacred Valley.
  • Pisac: Drive up to the Pisac Inca site for 1 hour to see temples and agricultural terraces.
  • Pisac Market: Visit the traditional market for 45 minutes to see and purchase local crafts.
  • Urubamba: Stop for lunch (not included).
  • Ollantaytambo: Visit the archaeological park for 1 hour to see the Inca citadel.
  • Late Afternoon: Board the train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu town).
  • Evening: Arrive in Aguas Calientes by 6:10 pm and check into your hotel for the night.

Day 2: Machu Picchu – Cusco

  • Morning: After breakfast, your guide will take you to the bus station to travel to the main entrance of Machu Picchu.
  • Machu Picchu: Explore the famous Inca citadel for approximately 4 hours with your guide.
  • Afternoon: After the tour, you will take the bus back down and then board the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo.
  • Late Afternoon: Arrive at Ollantaytambo train station at 3:55 pm, where a transport will be waiting to take you back to Cusco.
  • Evening: Expected arrival time in Cusco is around 6:00 pm.

Important Information

  • Documentation: A current, valid passport with at least 6 months validity is required for all participants. Passport information (name, number, date of birth, and country) is needed at the time of booking.
  • Luggage: You are advised to take a small backpack or carry-on suitcase for the overnight stay in Aguas Calientes. You can leave larger luggage at your Cusco hotel for free.
  • Machu Picchu Tickets: Tickets will be assigned based on availability. Circuit 2 is the first choice, but it is recommended to book 2-3 months in advance. Circuits 1 or 3 may be assigned if Circuit 2 is sold out.
  • Physical Fitness: Travelers should have a moderate physical fitness level.
  • Accessibility: Wheelchair and stroller access is limited. The tour can be provided as a private tour for an extra cost for wheelchair users, but not all areas are accessible.
  • Dietary Needs: A vegetarian option is available; please advise at the time of booking.
