Important Information for Travelers

  • Check-in: Arrive at the Reef Fleet Terminal between 7:15 AM and 7:45 AM. The boat departs at 8:00 AM sharp, so punctuality is key.
  • Transfers: Return transfers are available for an additional cost. You must contact the tour operator, Down Under Dive, to book these in advance.
  • Diving Requirements:
    • Medical Questionnaire: All divers must complete a Medical Questionnaire.
    • Medical Clearance: Divers over 65, or those with certain medical conditions (like asthma or heart disease) or on any prescription medication, need a medical clearance from a physician to confirm they are “Fit to Dive.” This clearance must include your full name, the doctor’s name, and a statement clearing you to dive.
    • Age Restrictions: Children under 12 (for introductory dives) and under 10 (for certified dives) are not permitted to participate in diving activities.
    • Certified Divers: You must bring evidence of your dive certification.
    • Flying after Diving: Diving within 24 hours of a flight is not permitted.
  • Other Considerations:
    • Lycra/Stinger Suits: These are provided free of charge and are highly recommended, especially during “stinger season,” for protection against marine stingers and the sun.
    • Dietary Needs: If you have special dietary requirements (vegan, vegetarian, etc.), you must contact the tour operator at least 24 hours before your trip to confirm arrangements.
    • Helicopter Flights: The weight limit for the helicopter is 130 kg due to aircraft comfort, weight, and balance.
    • What to Bring: It’s recommended to bring a towel, hat, sunglasses, and reef-safe sunscreen.

This cruise offers a highly-rated and well-organized way to experience the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef, with options for both novice snorkelers and experienced divers.
