
Homemade Hamburger Helper: Easy, Healthier, and Better Than the Box!

Here is a simple recipe to make homemade hamburger helper:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 cup milk
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions:
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the beef broth and milk. Bring to a simmer.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and Italian seasoning until combined.
- Slowly whisk the flour mixture into the simmering liquid until thickened, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the elbow macaroni and stir to combine.
- Reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until macaroni is tender.
- Remove from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese if desired.
